Lately, starting a new painting has been a bit like learning to paint all over again. For some reason, the things I learn from each painting, is not applicable on the next one, and I have to find a new process. I think it's my brain refusing to get comfortable in formulas. Or maybe I'm just looking for a new style.
Anyway, I'm happy with the outcome of this portrait. I've had a good bashing of DON'T OVER WORK IT (by myself of course). This particular painting took two days of staring at photos. I think it helped.
