Commission guide

Journal Entry: Sun Jan 11, 2009, 10:25 AM

____________________________________________________

Please contact me either via note or email (lili.ibrahim@london.com) for a quote!

When you decide on what you want from me, send me a note with the subject "Commission". Please enclose all the details about the picture you want me to draw/paint for you inclusive descriptions and/or reference if it's an original character. If it's a fanart, please link to already existing reference. Your description in the note will be my guide when I make the artwork!!

What I do:
I draw most things you find in my gallery. Just send me a note if you want me to draw something but you're not sure if I can! Head over to my commission gallery folder to get a good idea of what I do:

All commission work I do, or free work I do for you may be used for promotional purposes for myself, sold as prints, published in art books, published on my websites, etc. unless we have agreed on something else.

I accept payment through Paypal.

Occasionally I hand out free sketches in my journals :D

You put hours and hours of your time and energy into these beautiful works of art - why the heck would you freebee them??

Your art is precious!

(I'm all for sharing knowledge though, that's different!)

Aww thank you Laura! You're the sweetest ;___;

I totally agree with you. I normally wouldn't do it for free. I prefer not to (duh) but sometimes business is hard and I just want to prove I can do things :) As uni has been busy lately I havent had the time (Apart from my last kiriban). And since I'm graduating soon I'm hoping to make a living out of my art and not do it for free. *sniff* lets see how it goes!

I am totally down with the sharing of knowledge in the art community, and if doing a piece to demonstrate a technique is needed, then cool, along with art trades, or 'thank you' pieces for fan.... but it erks me when people expect free stuff. I know we all have to start somewhere, and we want to soak up as much as we can. But Kitten, you give so much of yourself in your art and the way you approach your fans, it just seems insulting to me when peeps want freebies, on top of what you give of yourself.

Just sayin' :P

<3 Gosh I don't even know what to say to that. I just wish everyone was more like you :) I really appreciate your constant kindness and I agree with all you said. I think that deviantart is split between professionals and hobbyists, and the hobbyists may not always get why everything needs to be paid for, because it's just for fun right?

Yes, that's true too. I am just being a snarky cow, lol!
I commission people for my job, I know how much that time and effort is worth!
